League of Legends esports
I started playing League of Legends in July of 2014 towards the later half of season 4, I had never played anything like it and I was really bad for a while. Eventually I truly fell in love with the game and the grind and eventually I transititioned into playing LOL esports. I’ve been playing competitive League of Legends since I was a sophomore in high school in 2016. I love sports and competition, and it seemed like a natural transition. I slowly lost my love for playing competitively but gained a new passion for coaching and management. Although I have had to take a backseat to focus on graduate school, I’m still highly active and involved in League of Legends and its Twitch stream production at the University of Utah.

The most fun and successful team I’ve ever been a part of.
It was a fluke that I was even introduced to this team. One day at practice for the Utah varsity team, we were working with some local high schoolers. One thing led to another, and I told one of them I would coach their school. I got to work with the most passionate and hardworking group of people in my entire life. We scrimmed and VOD reviewed for 5+ hours every day, 7 days a week, for 7 months. It never really occurred to me how much time this was because we were having so much fun. In our first season we almost had a golden road after winning a perfect TLE season and never dropping a game in the Play.vs season until the end, where we lost 2-0. It was a bittersweet ending to our first season, but we still were invited to nationals and ended up placing in the top 32. We learned a lesson about letting our nerves get to us that day since this entire project was over Covid, and the competition was our first in-person event.

(2020-2022)
We took what we learned and calmed our nerves. Once we realized how far ahead of the rest of the teams we were, we just coasted off of our hard work into 2 straight state championships. In conjunction with Farmingtons Rocket League team I helped turn Farmington High School into one of the best esports high schools in the country. I made life long friends along the way and this is the equivilent of my Los Ratones.
